Notes on installing NQC on the Mac OS X
These notes are from an installation done in June, 2005.
The target machine was a 12" PowerBook G4 running OS X 10.3.
- This machine did not have the Robolab icon
based coding system previously installed.
- NQC and the Mac NQC Integrated Development
Environment were downloaded from the MacNQC
home page. The actual package used was
MacNQC X 3.0 r2 for OSX as Stuffit X/BinHex file (1.6 MB).
- The SDK 2.0 Beta was downloaded from the
Mindstorms official resource page for advanced users.
This Software Developer's Kit has many interesting things.
However, for this fresh installation we need just the
firmware file (firm0328.lgo). This file can be then copied
to the folder Applications/MacNQCX/Firmware for easy access
if it is not already there.
